‘Intro To 3D Game Development’ Course Now Available

We’re happy to share that the first free dot big bang For Education course, ‘Intro To 3D Game Development’, is now live and available for use at learn.dotbigbang.com.

This series of three lessons can be used by individuals who want to get started in learning game development, or by educators in the classroom. It aims to teach some foundational game-making skills, and includes step-by-step guides to creating voxel objects, building environments, and adding behaviors with TypeScript.

Preston’s Diamond Dropper Is Out Now On dot big bang!

Evil Diamond Preston is back, causing carnage once more in Preston’s Diamond Dropper, a new game released today on dotbigbang.com. Fall, float, drop and dive through four fiendish levels—save Bri, and beat the giant boss!

When Evil Diamond Preston attacks their house at midnight, Preston and Bri must flee, leading to a daring descent through a series of spectacular dropper levels. See 10 games made in the first dot big bang Creator Incubator Program!

The first dot big bang Creator Incubator Program (CIP) is complete, and we’re happy to share the results today on our first CIP Appreciation Stream! This stream will pull together ten games people made in the first edition of the CIP program, showing off gameplay and design innovations in a wide variety of user-created games.

Changelog: dot big bang Version 0.9

This is a full rundown of the changes in dot big bang version 0.9. You can also read an intro here that highlights some of the main items.

Game
– Hide page header by default, toggle header by clicking on orange “Doodle” face icon
– Replace game buttons with more minimal button/icon set
– Abbreviate large numbers for Likes/Comments/Views counts
– Game Error dialog now includes buttons to “home” and “discord” as well as a “rejoin” button when kicked from a multiplayer session
